NEW PIONEERING HYBRID CHEESE

BE ONE OF THE FIRST TO TASTE PIONEERING ALPENCHEDDAR

In 2018, on a visit to Bavarian cheesemaker Albert Kraus’ dairy, the idea for a new cheese started to form. Seeing Albert’s experimentation with cheese inspired a partnership that combines centuries of British and Bavarian cheesemaking tradition and two unique cheesemaking terroirs. The result is a truly outstanding hybrid cheese – AlpenCheddar.

Our first batch is available now for you to try. This is a small batch cheese with a limited stock so don’t miss out – order yours today! Shop AlpenCheddar here

THE ULTIMATE ALPENCHEDDAR EXPERIENCE

The AlpenCheddar Story Box takes you on a journey from the Devon countryside to the Bavarian Alps with the cheeses that form the base of AlpenCheddar – Quicke’s Mature Cheddar and Alp Blossom - to the glorious pioneering cheese itself. Shop the AlpenCheddar Story Box here.

AlpenCheddar

Our Mature Cheddar is added to the curds of Hofkäserei Kraus’ flagship cheese, Alp Blossom. The cheese is then left to mature for 3 months in the home village of cheesemaker, Albert Kraus.

Alp Blossom

Made and matured for 8 months at Hofkäserei Kraus, the cheese is then dressed in a mix of organic, dried edible flowers & herbs that are grown in the surrounding Alpine meadows.

Mature Cheddar

Our signature cheddar handcrafted using milk from our grass-fed cows, clothbound and naturally matured typically for 12-15 months. Shop our Mature Cheddar here.

MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR ALPENCHEDDAR STORY BOX

Our Export and Multiple Retail Manager Poppy Bethell-Vickers takes you through the creation of AlpenCheddar and shares her top tips on how best to taste the three cheeses in the box.
